Good evening, dear friends, 
Physical sensations such as eye twitches and tics have been accorded a greater sensation in China than in the West. In the West, there are traditions such as if your ear burns, someone is talking about you, but China has developed a highly complex system of fortune telling based upon these sensations. This post here is based on writing in The Chinese Almanac or Tung Shu and has its history for thousands of years in China.
The most important aspect is to remember when you first felt the sensation. Then refer to the period of time listed below to see what the meaning of this sign is. Please do not take this guide as the gospel truth and actual prediction as it is only a form of beliefs practised in the olden days in China.
11pm – 1am
Twitches or tics in the left eye means a noblemen will come to see you. If the right it means you will be invited to a party or feast.
1am – 3am
If in the left eye, this means that something will happen to worry you. If the right eye, then someone is thinking about you.
3am – 5am
If in the left eye, this means that a friend from afar will come and visit you. If the right eye, this means a happy event awaits you.
5am – 7am
In the left eye, this means that a special guest will come. If in the right eye, then everything will go well.
7am – 9am
In the left eye, this means a close friend will come from afar. If in the right eye, then expect a slight injury.
9am – 11am
In the left eye, this means you will go to a party or feast. If the right eye, you will have a quarrel or a disaster.
11am – 1pm
If the left eye, this means you will eat and drink heartily. If the right eye, beware or there will be a disaster.
1pm – 3pm
In the left eye, this means that you are safe and plans go well. In the right eye, it means that you will have a minor happy event.
3pm – 5pm
In the left eye, it means you will lose money. In the right eye, then you will be thinking of your loved one very much.
5pm – 7pm
In the left eye, this means a guest is coming. This is also true for the right eye, but from far away.
7pm -9pm
In the left eye, this means a guest is coming. In the right eye, it means you will go to a big gathering.
9pm – 11pm
In the left eye, it means that a friend is coming. In the right eye, beware of trouble in court.

The information here was obtained from a Tung Shu or Chinese Almanac that I have and the Chinese Almanac contains information that has been researched and applied for thousands of years. Even in Vasthu Sastra, which is like Indian Feng Shui, beliefs in this area also goes back to thousands of years. You may be able to do more research on this topic at your local community library.

Now looking back at life when i remember when my left eye twitches there is normally a few deaths in the family ,as iv just had 2 more deaths in my family on same day while my left eye was twitching

I am often wary whenever my eyes twitch but I never did get to relate them to any specific events. Mostly, I find the twitches a bit annoying.

i had this,my eye twiching and leg also nerve kinda shaking, , for a week then my 26years old friend died, he was not sick at all, no pain, he died from cancer nobody knew that untill the last 5 days.. im not sure was it left or right , and now my right eye twiches for 3 days im so scared…

Whenever my or my wife’s left eye twitched we had fight among ourselves but when it is right eye it is something good happens. My eye was twitching since yesterday. While i was searching and reading about it on the web, on one of site says women who have left eye twitching meaning bad luck or death of a family ! It is so scary to think of it and i quickly dismiss it as stupid supertious stuff. The next moment my sister sms and told me my uncle passed away last night ! My eye twitching is all sudden stop.

Sometimes, I get a left eye twitch also and then, I make sure that I am extra careful in whatever I am doing, and I tell my family to be careful also…just in case. The Chinese believe in general that when the left eye twitches, there is some bad news coming. I, too, hope my left eye won’t twitch!

Thanks, i have since ask around among my friends and relatives, found out that For WOMEN right eye twitch means good luck/good news and left eye twitch means bad luck/bad news. BUT for men, it is the other way round. For MEN right eye twitch means bad luck/bad news and left eye twitch means good news/luck.
I am not sure how true it is about different side for men and women, hopefully more people share their experience to find out !

The Chinese here in Malaysia also have a very generalised interpretation of eye twitches, similar to yours – they say right eye twitches are auspicious and left eye’s are inauspicious. There is no right or wrong, these interpretations are meant as a referral for interest or fun only, not gospel truth.

I sometimes get twitches in the upper cheeks, right below the eyes, but I don’t have any information on what those mean.
They usually go away within a day or two. However, if any twitches do persist over a few days, it is best to see a doctor.

Most of the times, the duration of the eye twitches taken for these signs and omens is really short and irregular, usually not more than a day or two.
If you get frequent eye twitches on the same spots, it could be due to nerves or extreme stress. It would be advisable to consult a doctor in your case.

I find these omens to be rather interesting! I recently had some twitches in my right eye and there was a minor happy event! It was amazing.
My right eye twitched again this early morning around 2 in the morning and the twitch is still lasting but its intermittent. So what does this mean? Does it mean that someone is still thinking about me? According to what is stated above on the timings of the twitches I guess so, but the twitch is still lasting. Please let me know if there is a special meaning.

Sometimes, these omens can be interesting indeed. For a long time, my eyes haven’t twitched and one day, my left eye twitched for a few seconds non-stop. I look up the almanac and saw that the twitch meant I was going to a party and a feast. It was very accurate in that I was actually attending a party and feast the following night.
Personally, I think when our eyes twitched for the first time, then the meaning of that twitch will stay even if your eyes twitched again later the same day. Usually, the eyes don’t twitched for long after but if they still twitched, it could be due to nerves or stress.

I know sometimes people say it’s just muscle spasm. But the majority of the time something do occur and it’s quite freaky. *Right eye twitching as I’m typing*, a few years ago, my left eye was twitching and it was 8PM, and i was planning to take a drive down the supermarket to get something returned which was five minutes away. I drove about two minutes and *bam* my car was struck by a drunk driver who ran a red light and of course my car was totaled and to the emergency room I go. So now I’m extremely cautious when my right eye twitches. As much as I want to believe it’s just muscle spasm, I can’t take the risk.

If my right eye twtiches at the times you mentioned, I would be careful with what I say and exercise restraint so as to avoid any potential arguments. At the same time, I would be extra careful in whatever I do to prevent any untoward incident.
At the same time, I would look forward to a happy event, although it is a minor one.
These ancient signs and omens were seriously referred to in the olden days in China. Those of us whose ancestors have migrated from China to countries overseas rarely refer to them anymore. Only the curious and interested ones still do.

Yes, we have this in our Hindu philosphy somewhere- bascially anything related to female- postive energy is left side…so left eye twitch – good news , right eye twtches bad news……and vice versa for males..
dont think it necessarily means death, even though death is inevitable for everybody…so it is more of a fore-warning, to prepare you and maybe also for you to haev more faith in a higher power (God) , haev a higher consiousness and rise above the supersituions and if soemthing ‘bad’ does happen, at least you was slightly prepared…if its good news then show thanks by spreading this..
good good either way -depneds how you look it…i say with my right eye thumping away…for days…( usually have a fall outwith somebody close, so I am try to be extra-aware of my words)

today i felt pretty good and happy, then all of a sudden my right eye started twitching very hard around 9:45 . right after i got out of class there was a petty argument in which i never expected.

My Left eye has been twitching since Yesterday around 6:50 and it comes and goes. While I was asleep I could feel it twitch.
Yesterday I had a great lunch with a few friends and the man I love.
It began to twitch a few hours after we parted.
And as I’ve read here Left eye twitch is usually a bad sign that something’s gonna happen.
I’m very afraid that something will happen to him.
I can usually feel what’s going to happen.
In Dreams I often get revelations.
And at the moment I’m feeling very stressed, and scared.
When I feel something I’m usually right about it unfortunately.
I have no way of communicating with him at the moment. Which makes this feeling to just get worse.
What can I do? :3

The signs and omens here refer to the exact time when our eyes start twitching. So, if you remember when yours started, then you refer to the time frame of the sign and omen chart to see what to look out for. So, assuming your eye starting twitching at 6.50 PM, then the omen is this ===>
If your eye had twitched at 6.50 AM, then its meaning is this ===>
So, your eye twitch is not a bad sign at all.
In any case, should our eyes twitch be a bad omen, just consider it as a sign to help you be more mindful and alert so that you can be as careful as you can to try averting any bad incidences. Positive thinking helps a lot, too.

Usually, the eye twitches that serve as signs and omens for us don’t last a long time – it happens just once or a few times during a 24 hour period only. . If they happen very frequently and longer, it could due to stress, too much body heatiness (as in TCM), or maybe some nerve problems. If the twitches continue over a few days, it is best to seek medical advice.

I feel that I have a gift, i get these eye twitches all the time and my mother also. Normally when my left eye jumps something bad happens and when my right eye jumps something good happens. Trust me, i used to think i was weird are even crazy. I see certain numbers too, like 11-11-11 or 1-11 and most of the time, something bad happens on those dates for example september 11. I really want to know whats going on or if there’s something God wants me to know. krist child again, also to add, by paying attention to my eye twitch, I have saved a friend from an accident, and kept myself from harm. Call it what you want but i believe that, we all have gifts that god gives us, and it’s up to you to figure it out you will find your connection and purpose with god on this earth.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in this subject. I’m glad you were able to take advantage of your eye twitch situations to save a friend and avoid any dangers for yourself. Some people are born with uncanny abilities to get some form of warnings of impending harm or good stuff happening in the future – I feel it’s like a way our Higher Self is attuned to some energies out there which serve as messages for us.

Wow. I have always believed in these kind of superstitions mainly because they always prove to be true. My left eye just twitched about 15 minutes ago and it’s after 6:00am. Im going to exercise caution but think positively because I refuse to let the thought of bad news ruin my day. According to the time frames, a special friend is supposed to visit me. I’m actually excited to see who it might be.

Omg. These Signs and omens are true. This morning between 5am and 7am, my left eye jumped for all of two minutes. I researched and found this site amongst others who said left eye for women meant good news/fortune/luck and someone special would visit. At approx 5pm, there was a knock at my door. I opened it up and it was my brother. I hadn’t talked to him in approx 6 months. Guess what else? He bought a new house, got a new job and proposed to his girlfriend. I’m so happy for him. I couldn’t contain myself. Thank you for this post!

Whenever you eye twitches, you need to know exactly when it all started/began, take note of the time and refer to the eye twitching guide above and see what it means.
I’m sorry, I don’t know how to interpret the signs of eye twitches myself.
However, when one is stressed, eye twitches can happen continuously for a few days. You may wish to consult a doctor for medical advice, too.

Hi everyone! My Grandma who is 89yrs old & a mother of 23, Someone i never heard curse before has truthfully stated when your left eye jumps it means Warning/Badluck on the way the right eye means GoodLuck. This is true from my experience it hasn’t fell me yet.

my right eye twitches all the time, i do have health problems, and its a neurological problem. Just annoying nothing more. Other minor causes could be stress, lack of food, lack of sleep.

It is unusual to have eye twitches going on for 3 months continuously…it is best to consult a doctor. It could be due to stress or some nerve disorder. It’s better to have your healed from your persistent eye twitches than to worry superstitiously over what they would mean to you.
The eye twitches and tics with signs and omens here occur very little only, just once or twice, maybe over just a day or so.

I am female and It I am really scare with that eye twitching with me because i always notice if some good news my right eye always twitch and bad news my left eye twitch does not matter what time but its always bother me when my left eye twitch .since yesterday my left eyes start twitching start from afternoon 1pm and still twitching

Most times, the eye twitches are usually due to stress and so, it is best to not worry too much over what they may mean negatively as that will only add on to the stress and fuel the eye twitches further.
To use the “Signs and Omens” guide here….you have to take note exactly when that particular area of eye twitch or tic happens and refer to the guide for that time frame the eye twitch happened. After that, the same eye twitch may happen continuously but you don’t refer to the guide anymore. Just that one time at the beginning only.
For me, if the sign has a negative meaning, I will take note of that and be extra careful for a few weeks in whatever I do. No need to worry excessively over the meaning as it may not be totally true. It is still in our hands or actions to change our future somewhat.

I’m afraid as you didn’t note down the time when you eye first started twitching, I can’t indicate its meaning to you.
Perhaps, as she has yet to give you her reply to your proposal, you may be worried and stressful and those emotions can cause eye twitches, too.
